Measurements & Room Correction for Your Sound System

Moon Audio welcomes Earthworks and its selection of premium measurement microphones to our collection of curated, high-end audio gear. Earthworks Audio mics are renowned for their precision and flat response in speaker measurement applications all over the world. They are the industry standard when it comes to acoustical measurements and we are thrilled to be finally carrying the M23, M30, and M50 microphone models. These microphone kits are great for multiple scenarios, ranging from live performances/live sound applications, room correction, speaker measurements, and more.

Earthworks Audio is a microphone manufacturer first and foremost. They are popular among pro audio and consumer audio enthusiasts alike. They make some of the best drum microphones, cardioid, condenser microphones, gooseneck microphones, podium microphones, hypercardioid, choir microphones, broadcast microphones, and condenser mics, around. You name it, they make it. Their stainless steel construction is part of their trademark, looking equally modern yet vintage. Some of their most popular models feature the Earthworks DM20, Earthworks Icon, Earthworks ETHOS, Earthworks M30, Earthworks QTC40MP, Earthworks SR117, and the Earthworks SR314. Their drum mics, drum kits, vocal condenser microphones, omni mics, and complete microphone systems are some of the best in the pro audio business. On the other side of Earthworks is their world-renowned measurement microphone lineup. Their microphones have tuned some of the best venues and studios around the world.

We're excited to not just carry these at Moon Audio but also use them in the near future to develop speaker measurements for our customers, providing you with more important information about the speaker products you are interested in. We're excited to announce new products coming to Moon Audio from RME and DEQX that will work with Earthworks microphones for things like room correction and more. Stay tuned for more information on those brands coming soon!

What is DSP?

DSP stands for Digital Signal Processing or a Digital Sound Processor. You'll find the technology inside of every consumer audio device these days, and they basically act like a computer's CPU. It's where all the processing occurs for digital audio signals. DSP is usually designed on a chip - and like all chips - can come in a variety of sizes, performance variations, and prices. More powerful chips can "do the math" quicker and more efficiently than lower-tiered DSP chips, so performance will correspond directly to the price.

All of this technology is built to make your music sound better. Your wireless headphones, standalone DACs, and even your room correction gear all have DSP as an integral part of making your audio sound the best it can.

Product Details

The Ultimate in Audio Measurement: The M23, M30, and M50 are precision-engineered omnidirectional measurement microphones ideally suited for acoustical measurements including high-end loudspeaker design and quality control, scientific research, measurements of ultrasonic or subsonic transducers, or any application where an extremely accurate free-field measurement microphone is required.

The Pinnacle of Transparency: An ultra-wide flat frequency response that extends from 3Hz and up (depending on the model - see specifications below) and is flat throughout the entire spectrum. An omnidirectional polar response that is exceptionally consistent. A 140dB SPL rating without distortion and no handling noise.

Accuracy in Any Environment: With temperature-compensated electronics, the M23, M30, and M50 were built to deliver repeatable results no matter the environment.

Compatible With Your Favorite Measurement Software: Lightning-fast impulse response and linear phase response make the M23, M30, and M50 ideal for use with high-quality FFT-based real-time audio system measurement software like SMAART™, SIM™, REW™, Electroacoustics Toolbox™, FuzzMeasure™, and others, as well as for use in PA system alignment and loudspeaker design.

Professional products designed with professionals in mind: In audio, our perception of what feels real and natural is incredibly sensitive to resolution in the time domain. In particular, the level of detail present in the initial transient is responsible for much of our sense of content, meaning, and frequency balance. This includes defining attributes like “timbre”, “texture”, and “air”. Earthworks’ blazingly fast technology ensures that every performance sounds like life.

If you have any questions about Earthworks microphones and how you can use them for your Hi-Fi system, please feel free to leave a comment! Happy listening!
