Given the nature of the CRBN²'s Electrostatic drivers, the CRBN² requires an amplifier with electrostatic output using 580VDC bias–also known as Stax Pro Bias. Pair the CRBN² with a suitable amplifier from a variety of brands and drive them efficiently. The Audeze CRBN² Headphones take everything great about the first-generation CRBN and elevates it. Using Audeze's second-generation carbon-nanotube electrostatic drivers, the CRBN² Headphones incorporates a new breakthrough technology–SLAM Technology–for enhanced bass and lower distortion. Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator (SLAM) is a patent-pending technology tuned to enhance bass frequencies and lower distortion, thus maintaining the optimal pressure distribution on the diaphragm. SLAM gives the CRBN² the most life-like physical bass of any electrostatic headphone, with natural detail presentation and immersive stereo imaging.

As with all Audeze Headphones, the CRBN² is meticulously engineered and crafted from the highest quality materials: Magnesium, carbon fiber, premium leather, stainless steel, and polymer acetate. A carbon fiber headband wrapped in premium leather sits perfectly atop your head, while leather earpads envelop you in a world of comfort and high fidelity audio. Each CRBN² is proudly made in the U.S.A, hand-assembled and tested in California by Electrostatic specialists.
Heritage of Innovation
CRBN² is based on a project to produce headphones for use in MRI machines, between Audeze and a team from UCLA School of Medicine. Due to the powerful magnetic fields of an MRI, the headphone could not use ferrous metals, so researchers developed the carbon nanotube film electrostatic driver.
