The iFi Pro iDSD Signature is adorned with inputs and outputs making it one of the most advanced and versatile DACs on the market. On the front of the Pro iDSD Signature, you'll find an OLED display, input selector, digital filter selection, output selection mode, 3.5mm single-ended headphone output, 6.3mm headphone output, balanced 4.4mm headphone output, an analog volume control, and an infrared remote receiver. All digital inputs on the Pro iDSD Signature are galvanically isolated. The USB input is self-powered and doesn't draw power from the USB bus and the S/PDIF inputs use technology from the GMT (Global Master Timing) clocking system to reduce jitter.
The rear panel sports the following analog outputs: XLR balanced, single-ended signal output, and output selector that lets you change the signal output to different levels for home or studio use. You'll also find the following digital inputs: Ethernet, source host USB Type A, USB Type B, coaxial/digital input, micro SDHC, AES/EBU, Wi-Fi antenna, and BNC digital input. There is also a clock sync output, DC loop-out supply, DC power supply input, and clock sync mode adjuster.
The Pro iDSD Signature uses a quad-stack DAC design of iFi's bit-perfect DSD & DXD DAC by Burr-Brown in a custom configuration. A total of eight pairs (four for each channel) of differential signals are used and mixed. The powerful XMOS XU216 X-Core 200 series chipset enables the Pro iDSD Signature to provide state-of-the-art audio support- from MP3, 32-bit/768kHz PCM, DSD512, 2xDXD, and full MQA decoding. The Pro iDSD Signature also features a Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine chip that enables advanced digital filtering and upsampling options, further enhancing the audio quality. It can upconvert PCM and DSD files to DSD512 and DSD1024. And all controlled from an app in the palm of your hand.
The Pro iDSD Signature, like its predecessor, takes sonic tailoring to the extreme. The iFi Pro iDSD Signature is a one-of-a-kind product that is able to switch between three output selection modes: Solid-State, Tube, and Tube+. It is fully-discrete, fully-balanced with either tube or J-FET input switchable, bipolar second stage, and mosfet-buered bipolar Class A power stage (with Class AB for low impedance headphones and very high levels).
iFi's Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine strikes again as it enables the Pro iDSD Signature to offer several digital filtering options.The GTO filter adds gravitas and a new dimension, and while the Bit Perfect, Bit Perfect+, Apodising and Transient Aligned filters give you even more choices to tweak the sound. The discrete, fully balanced Class A amplifier stage offers adjustable gain.
