The Chord 2YU is a hifi digital interface that connects to the Chord 2GO, effectively turning the 2GO/2YU into a fully functional, standalone music streamer and server. It is only a direct interface for the 2GO, however, the digital outputs can be used to provide a WLAN or LAN connection when combined with other DACs from Chord Electronics or other manufacturers. Why is this so wonderful? It can turn any Legacy DAC into a Roon endpoint without a direct connection to a computer via USB. You no longer need to be tethered to your computer.
The Chord 2YU offers four digital outputs so it can be connected to any DAC or any other device with a digital input, and it can be connected to Chord's own Hugo M Scaler / Hugo TT2 to create a state-of-the-art streaming system.
The 2YU connects directly to 2GO to add TOSLINK optical S/PDIF, Coaxial RCA and/or BNC (both 75 ohms) digital outputs, plus a cleverly integrated USB-A output. Note that compatibility does not work with other Chord products like the DAVE, Qutest, or Hugo 2 DAC. Like the Poly only works with the Mojo, in a similar fashion, the Chord 2YU is only compatible with the Chord Electronics 2GO.
Dragon Cable Recommendation: The Silver Dragon Digital Toslink Cable is one of our best-selling cable at Moon Audio and the perfect companion for the Chord 2YU. The Silver Dragon Form Fit Toslink cable was created for portable audio gear with a smaller footprint. The Silver Dragon Interconnect is another great option depending on your existing setup.
The Chord Electronics 2YU offers four digital outputs so it can be connected to Chord's own Hugo M Scaler / Hugo TT2 to create a state-of-the-art streaming system. We would recommend the Black Dragon 75ohm Mini Coax Cable to connect the 2GO-2YU together with the Hugo 2 as it enables you to connect the 2GO-2YU to multiple DACs in a 2-channel setup. For example, you can use the Hugo 2 as your primary headphone amplifier and send another digital output to your 2-channel or Home Theater system.
The 2YU boasts 2,000 MIPS (million instructions per second) of processing power, an integrated sample rate converter, plus a low-jitter audio phase lock loop. Highly flexible in its potential applications, 2GO with 2YU is also ideal for installers wishing to create a discreet remote Roon streaming solution: the duo can be wired into an Ethernet port to provide streaming to a system in any room. 2YU alone can also be used with PC or Mac via USB to create a high-quality USB-to-digital-audio converter for audio devices that accept a USB input.
Like the 2GO, the 2YU is hand-made in the UK using aircraft-grade aluminum and the same high-quality manufacturing processes inherent in all Chord Electronics products. Like the Hugo 2, 2YU features four polychromatic spherical controls governing output selection, power, mute, and dim functions.

FAQ
How Does the 2Yu work?
The 2Yu only works together with the 2Go. Together these two pieces make for an excellent streamer so you can bring the many features of the 2Go to any DAC you would like to use. It has a small form factor but it is packed with some of the best streaming hardware you can get at this price point.
Should I get the 2Go or the 2Yu?
The 2Yu will only work with the 2Go, buying the 2Yu by itself will not provide any functionality for your music listening.
When connecting to your network how does the 2Yu show up?
When you are connecting to any service with the 2Go and 2Yu, just the 2Go will show up. The 2Go is the streamer and the 2Yu is effectively adding digital outputs to this streamer.

What is the best output to use on the 2Yu?
The USB output has by far the best bandwidth supporting up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD 256. The other three connectors all have their own merits, but are much more limited with the BNC/RCA outputs maxing out at 24bit 384kHz and DSD 128. The Optical signal only does 24bit 96kHz PCM and DSD 64.
