Ushering in a new era of technological innovation, the 64 Audio Volür is a 10-driver hybrid Universal In-Ear Monitor, building on the heritage of the Audio Nio IEM. Sporting two new innovations from 64 Audio, the Volür is made up of two custom 9mm dynamic drivers in a True Isobaric configuration as well as incorporating the Tia waveguide technology. Along with the already industry-defining, patented tech like Apex, Tia, and LID, the Volür IEM takes its place among the most resolving high-end audio products in the world. If you're ready for a new benchmark in IEM performance, check out the Volür IEMs and begin reaping the sonic difference.
Dragon Cable Recommendation: We recommend pairing the Volür IEMs with our Bronze Dragon IEM Cable and Silver Dragon IEM Cable. The Bronze Dragon is our warm and musical-sounding IEM Cable, delivering a fuller, balanced sound with the perfect balance of warmth and detail. The Bronze Dragon uses UP-OCC copper conductors to warm, expand, and strengthen the bottom end for an improved presentation of any thin or bright-sounding IEMs. The Silver Dragon is our top-of-the-line flagship audio cable, using UP-OCC silver conductors to deliver a clear, articulate listening experience. It's designed to maximize the amount of detail, clarity, air, and instrument separation you get from your IEMs. It's a smooth and clean-sounding cable that will balance warm or dark-sounding IEMs.
Bold, Eye-Catching Design
The Volür IEM sports an eye-catching striking design that's consistent with 64 Audio's bold design choices. The outer shell of the Volür is the same size as the Nio, but significant structural changes have been made. The faceplate now features a sleeker chamfer, seamlessly blending with the matte black-finished aluminum shell. The final cosmetic touch comes in the form of an homage to the Nio: a dreamy purple abalone chip made from responsibly harvested New Zealand Paua shell.
The Volür IEM comes with several accessories that enhance the user's experience. Included are a vast selection of ear tips and an ear tip holder made to hold three different types of tips in three different sizes. 64 Audio's true fidelity foam tips are made of a unique foam blend that molds easily to your ear and doesn't overly accentuate the top end and alter the sound quality. The SpinFit Foam Ear Tips are a crowd favorite because of their extreme comfort, easy placement, and ability to stay in place for long listening sessions. Lastly, 64 Audio includes silicone tips that they say provide an incredibly accurate sound reproduction due to their placement on the Volür IEM. To deliver users the best possible all-around experience, a bonded leather case and a cleaning tool are included to protect the Volür IEMs from damage and maintain them for an even longer lifespan. Routine maintenance will remove build-up and debris that could potentially reach the IEM driver. A cable clip, commonly used by audio pros sporting custom IEMs, is included to keep the cable from getting caught and damaging the IEM jacks.
Ten-Driver Hybrid Design
The Volür IEM features a ten-driver hybrid design with a four-way crossover that take care of the bass, low mids, mids, and highs. Two dynamic drivers for the bass, six balanced armature drivers for the low mids, one balanced armature driver for the high mids, and 64 Audio's direct radiating Tia driver for the highs. The six low-mid and single high-mid balanced armature drivers carry through to Volür. Their implementation was re-engineered to maximize space while integrating 3D-printed acoustic tuning features. 64 Audio's True Isobaric driver configuration is implemented into the two dynamic drivers connected by an acoustically inert coupling chamber. One diaphragm is fully sealed off, while only the other contributes sound pressure. This complex application results in better damping, lower distortion, twice the power handling (because there are two coils and two motor structures), and extended LF response.
The isobaric low-drivers’ damping decreases low-frequency smear, lowering the noise floor to a darker background between notes and beats, allowing details to shine. This creates more palpable impact, with subtle sub-bass information revealing the artist’s true intentions, and a full sound at low volumes. Mids maintain that signature rich quality; an almost tube-saturated presentation. Upper-mids enhance holographic center imaging that really shines with vocals. Our tia waveguide plays the biggest role in improving HF response since our invention of the direct-radiating driver; increasing clarity and stereo imaging.
With the iso-group wired in series, 64 Audio created a new 9mm dynamic driver with an upgraded n54 magnet and 25μm PU/115°C + 19μm Ti Cone to increase sensitivity. To further shape the sound, we 64 Audio used a high-precision textile mesh acoustic low-pass filter (originally developed for the 64 Audio Fourté Blanc).
The direct-radiating tia high-driver is fitted with 64 Audio's new tia waveguide technology that to increases the efficiency and general amplitude of the high frequency band. The Tia Waveguide technology helps guide high frequencies out of the IEM and ear canal, instead of bouncing around, so they're not reflected back into the inside of the IEM shell. The tia waveguide also serves as a mounting mechanism, mating to the mid-driver housing, offering exact driver positioning during manufacturing.
Innovative Patented Technology Delivers a True Hi-Fi Sound
The Volür IEM is configured with a number of innovative technologies from 64 Audio that harmoniously work together to create the Volür's unique sound. The True Isobaric Configuration decreases distortion while producing a deeper, more controlled bass response for an overall richer sound. The Tia Waveguide technology boosts the high-frequency output above 10kHz by roughing 14dB for a more natural, extended high-frequency response.
Tia Technology Explained: Tubeless In-Ear Audio (Tia) is a patented IEM design methodology that aims to reduce unwanted resonance and distortion for a transparent and lifelike sound signature. The Tia tia system consists of three major elements: open balanced armature Tia drivers, the Tia single-bore design, and Tia acoustic chambers. The Volür features two major elements of the Tia system: theTia driver and the Tia single-bore design.
Apex Technology: Air Pressure Exchange (Apex) technology is implemented in the Volür for a more enjoyable listening experience. Apex is a patented vent that releases air pressure in a sealed ear canal all while still retaining standard IEM levels of isolation. This venting alleviates listener fatigue and allows for a much more realistic soundstage. Apex comes in four module variations for the Volür: mX, *m12, m15, and m20. While it looks similar to many of 64 Audio's universal IEMs, the internal construction of the Apex system is redesigned to maximize space for the low-frequency bore incorporated into the mid-driver housing.
LID: Linear Impedance Design (LID) is a patented circuit that corrects the non-linear electrical resistance of the multiple driver-sets comprising this 10 driver IEM. Varying source amplifier output impedance in devices like smartphones, body packs, DAC/amps, and DAPs typically results in varying frequency response, depending on the increase in resistance. Restoring proper interaction with the source and preserving the desired sound signature enables a consistent reliable sound.
What is soon to be a new benchmark in acoustic delivery, the Volür IEM is capable of visceral bass while leaving room for the rest of the spectrum to shine. The saturated mids continue to evoke a similar analog warmth found in Nio, while the highs propel it into the territory of some of the most resolving audio products in the world.
"When I compare it to the Nio, I find that this gives me more resolution in the bass. I really feel the Isobaric system working where it seems like the dynamics come through cleaner...even on very low bass notes I still hear a lot of articulation. I hear more definition, a tighter more controlled bass. The mids are still as creamy as they are on the Nio," said Vitaliy Belonozhko 64 Audio Founder and Chief Sound Designer
